Like most children, when I was very young, I enjoyed drawing and making patterns with color. At some point, I moved on to other things and didn't draw or paint for decades. During that time, I was very focused on my career in business. During a particularly intense time in that career, I felt like I would implode if I didn't do something in my free time to relax. My family gave me a gift with some paint and an easel for Christmas one year and the rest is history! That was about fifteen years ago.
There are so many resources to tap into to learn technical skills and details about specific mediums. In addition to the joy of painting, the process of learning and growing as an artist is limitless.
Not generally. However, I sometimes take color palette and size requests and create a painting with that "inspiration" in mind. I like the freedom of what I paint along with the buyer’s freedom from any obligation.
